Rectification line for slip bricks in the U.S.

This project was completed in March 2026, involving the installation of a slip/thin brick rectification line in the United States.

In March 2026, Maincer completed the development and installation of a rectification line for slip/thin bricks for a leading ceramic manufacturer in the United States.

The objective of the project was clear: to improve the product’s dimensional accuracy, ensure greater uniformity between pieces, and optimize the production process without compromising final quality.

Challenge

Uniformity and precision in slip bricks

Slip bricks are a product where the final finish plays a key role, both aesthetically and structurally. In this context, any dimensional variation can directly affect the final result on site.

The client needed to achieve consistent dimensions and uniform sizing across all bricks within the same model, while maintaining the required production levels.

The challenge was to reach high precision within tenths of a millimeter, improving the final appearance of the product and ensuring full dimensional stability throughout the entire production process.

Solution

Rectification line with double calibration unit

Maincer developed a complete solution based on a rectification line composed of two calibration units, specifically designed to meet the client’s requirements.

The installation includes:

  • Infeed conveyor section
  • First longitudinal rectification unit
  • Intermediate section with piece turning system
  • Second transversal rectification unit
  • Outfeed section with brushing, blowing, and flipping

Each rectification unit is equipped with up to six calibration motors per side, operating with synthetic diamond grinding wheels to progressively machine the slip/thin bricks until the exact dimensions are achieved.

Process

Two-stage rectification for maximum precision

The system operates in two complementary stages:

  • Longitudinal rectification, where the main dimension of the piece is adjusted
  • Transversal rectification, which ensures total uniformity of the brick

This dual process enables the production of pieces with perfectly parallel faces, consistent geometry, and high repeatability, ensuring homogeneous results across the entire production.

Technology

Rectification technology serving structural ceramics

The implementation of this solution enables the manufacturer to improve product quality, dimensional stability, and production efficiency, strengthening its market position.

Maincer’s rectification technology meets the current demands of the structural ceramics sector, where precision, efficiency, and final product quality are key factors for competitiveness.
