Corner Brick Grinding Machine in Poland
This project was completed in October 2025 with the installation of a corner brick grinding machine in Poland.
In October 2025, Maincer completed the development and installation of a grinding machine for corner bricks (L-shaped bricks) for King Klinker, a leading ceramic manufacturer specialized in clinker products.
The objective of the project was clear: to improve the dimensional accuracy of corner bricks, ensure consistent sizing, and optimize the production process without compromising final product quality.

Challenge
Grinding corner bricks with dual-plane geometry: a precision challenge
Corner bricks, also known as L-shaped bricks, are a critical part of production due to both their structural function and their visual impact on façades.
The client needed to achieve a consistent and uniform size across all these pieces, which represent approximately 25% of total production.
The technical challenge was particularly complex, as each piece has two working planes:
- One leg in a horizontal plane
- One leg in a vertical plane
The challenge was to develop a system capable of grinding both faces simultaneously, maintaining tight tolerances and ensuring full dimensional stability throughout production.
Solution
Grinding machine for corner bricks
Maincer developed a fully customized solution: the MRE-270 machine, specifically designed for grinding corner bricks.
The installation includes:
- Feeding system using servo-driven belts
- Belts with anti-slip protrusions for precise piece control
- Two horizontal transport belts
- One vertical belt acting as a guide and stopper
- Grinding system with 8 motors (4 horizontal + 4 vertical)
Each motor, with a power of 4.8 kW, is equipped with grinding wheels that progressively machine the piece until reaching the desired final dimensions.
Process
Simultaneous grinding in two planes
The system allows corner bricks to be processed in a single pass through a synchronized operation:
- Stable transport and positioning of the piece
- Grinding in the horizontal plane
- Simultaneous grinding in the vertical plane
This approach ensures perfectly calibrated bricks, consistent geometry, and high repeatability, eliminating deviations between faces.
In addition, the entire process is carried out dry, without the need for water.
Results
Improved quality, productivity, and dimensional control
The implementation of the MRE-270 machine has enabled King Klinker to:
- Achieve uniform sizing in corner bricks
- Improve overall product quality
- Increase grinding precision
- Optimize production times
- Reduce operating costs
- Move towards more efficient and sustainable processes
