Automatic Side Feeder for Ceramics in France
This project was completed in May 2026 with the installation of an automatic side feeder in France at a company specializing in the processing and machining of ceramic parts.
In May 2026, the implementation of an automatic feeding system was completed to optimize the machining workflow of ceramic pieces at a company specialized in cutting and processing ceramic materials.
The main objective of the project was to automate the loading of parts into the machining machine, increase productivity, and reduce reliance on continuous operator intervention during the manufacturing process.

Challenge
Optimizing Part Feeding in Skirting Board Manufacturing
The previous system required an operator to continuously feed the machine manually with pre-cut pieces for subsequent machining. This task limited the overall productivity of the installation and required dedicated human resources to perform repetitive loading operations.
The client needed a solution capable of:
- Automating the feeding of ceramic pieces.
- Increasing production line productivity.
- Reducing manual operator intervention.
- Optimizing operating costs.
- Improving process accuracy and consistency.
- Increasing efficiency in the production of skirting boards and special pieces.
In addition, the system needed to provide reliable, continuous feeding of the machining machine in order to maintain a constant production flow.
Solution
Automatic Side Feeder for Ceramic Machining Lines
The solution developed by Maincer is based on the installation of an automatic side feeder integrated with the MRV-350/5+1 skirting board machine.
This system fully automates the feeding of pre-cut ceramic pieces, ensuring a continuous and uniform supply throughout the machining process.
The solution provides:
- Automatic feeding of ceramic pieces.
- Reduced downtime and non-productive periods.
- Greater autonomy of the production line.
- Optimization of human resources.
- Increased machining machine performance.
Thanks to this automation, operators no longer need to perform repetitive continuous loading tasks and can instead focus on production supervision and process control.
Process
Automatic Feeding of Parts for Skirting Board Machining
The operator loads stacks of pre-cut ceramic pieces into the automatic feeder.
From that point onward, the system sequentially supplies each piece to the machining machine, maintaining a constant feeding flow without the need for continuous operator intervention.
During the process:
- Parts are fed automatically.
- The machine receives material continuously.
- Production stops due to lack of feeding are reduced.
- The operator only replenishes material when necessary.
This operation significantly improves operational efficiency and optimizes the production of ceramic skirting boards and special pieces.
Results
Greater Efficiency in Ceramic Processing and Machining
The implementation of the automatic side feeder has enabled:
- Increased production line productivity.
- Automation of the feeding process.
- Reduced dependence on direct labor.
- Improved production continuity.
- Optimized manufacturing times.
- Increased process profitability.
- Enhanced overall plant efficiency.
With this installation, the company optimizes its ceramic processing operations and improves its competitiveness in the production of porcelain skirting boards and decorative pieces for architectural and construction applications.
